Who do we work with?

Our Respiratory Protection Program team work with both individuals and organisations looking to book in for fit testing across Western Australia.

Fit testing for individuals at our Belmont facility involves:

  • Proper donning and doffing techniques
  • How to correctly conduct a user seal check
  • Informing on the maintenance requirements of the respirator, including cleaning instructions

If you are an organisation with a number of employees requiring fit testing, the team can tailor a Respiratory Protection Program suited to your organisation's needs, inclusive of:

What happens during a respirator fit test?

The user will be asked to wear a test respirator while performing a series of movements, which determines if the respirator is properly sealing to the user's face.

The purpose of these exercises is to simulate movements that may be undertaken during work, thus ensuring that leakage does not occur.

The fit testing technician will also assess whether the respirator is causing any discomfort or breathing difficulty, since user comfort is a key component in ensuring respirator fit.

At the conclusion of the test, the technician will communicate to the wearer whether they have achieved a pass on the respirator, based on their fit factor score.

Is facial hair allowed?
