Course Overview:
The Critical Response Training – First Aid and Oxygen Resuscitation Skills course equips participants with advanced skills to manage major trauma and medical emergencies in high-risk environments. The training covers tourniquet application, wound packing, trauma bandaging, airway management, and advanced resuscitation techniques.

This course is recommended for workers with access to oxygen equipment in the workplace such as Emergency Service Officers, Medical Emergency Service Officers, Defence & Corrections Officers, Security Personnel, Lifeguards, Isolated Workers and Site Supervisors.

It is recommended that participants hold a HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate.

Course Content:
Complete critical response training including first aid skills and advanced oxygen resuscitation:
• MARCH Trauma Assessment
• Tourniquet Application
• Wound Packing & Trauma Bandaging
• Airway Management
• Temperature Management
• Bag Valve Mask Ventilation
• Oropharyngeal Airway (OPA) Use
• Monitoring Vitals
• Oxygen Therapy Delivery
• Equipment Checks & Maintenance

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a Certificate of Completion.

Course Duration: 1 day in class

Delivery Method: Face-to-Face

Course Requirements
This course requires basic skills in language, learning and literacy. You will need:
• A basic understanding of spoken and written English
• The ability to write English and complete a form
• The ability to count and identify numbers up to 100

Physical Fitness
A basic level of physical fitness is required to complete this course. The class contains regular floor-based activities.
