Course description
Advanced Life Support Level 1 (ALS1) focuses on developing
skills, knowledge and confidence in medical emergencies. ALS1 is an Australian
Resuscitation Council (ARC) accredited course designed specifically for health
professionals who may face emergencies or need to manage deteriorating patients
or cardiac arrest until advanced support arrives.
Recognition, assessment and management of critically ill
patients using the ABCDE approach
Airway management and oxygen therapy
High quality CPR and defibrillation skills (manual and/or
AED modes)
Cardiac arrest management using the ALS algorithm
Working effectively as part of a resuscitation team
This certification is valid for 4 years.
