Respiratory Fit Testing
Respiratory Fit Testing
Individual or group fit testing through St John WA.
Respirator fit testing is an important procedure that ensures a respirator properly fits the user and provides the intended level of protection against respiratory hazards.
It is important for individuals who wear respirators for work or other activities to have a proper fit, as a poorly fitting respirator may not provide adequate protection.
To ensure the highest level of protection for workers and compliance for businesses, St John WA strictly adheres to the Australian/New Zealand Standards when conducting fit testing.

Frequently asked questions
The purpose of these exercises is to simulate movements that may be undertaken during work, thus ensuring that leakage does not occur.
The fit testing technician will also assess whether the respirator is causing any discomfort or breathing difficulty, since your comfort is a key component in ensuring respirator fit.
At the conclusion of the test, the technician will communicate whether you have achieved a pass on the respirator, based on your fit factor score.
